Hi, Dean. Just finished listening to this one. Really dug the Don Bryant tune, which I wasn't familiar with. "Gone, Gone, Gone" is a favorite Everly Brothers tune and I hadn't heard "Monkey Tune" in quite a while. Always good to hear some Petty deep cuts too.
ReplyDeleteI really like that Don Bryant song too. He has quite a history. Never a star but he formed his first musical group all the way back in 1955. He's also been married to Ann Peebles for forty years and was one of the co-writers for her hit "I Can't Stand the Rain."
DeleteThe Everly Brother are primarily remembered for their '50s Cadence recordings, but had a number of worthy songs from the 1960s as well. It's been great for Plant/Krauss to give them some attention on each of their albums.

Been throwing in some Petty deep cuts on the show. I think the next one will be a more well-known one.
