Loved the mix on this one. Hadn't heard that Pete Townshend song or the JDFR, both of which I enjoyed. Fun to hear The Thrills - that was a good album. I'm with you on Cuban Slide and She's the One being great examples of that Bo Diddley beat. Saw him in concert in the early 80s and he was so much fun.
ReplyDeleteThat was cool that you saw Bo Diddley. I don't think I saw any of the original '50s rock 'n rollers live, except the Everly Brothers. I think it's so strange how under-the-radar that Townshend single release was. He needs to talk to the person handling publicity for the Stones. Big fan of both "Cuban Slide" and "She's the One." Especially like the live version of "She's the One" with the harmonica opening. Great job of stretching out the song a little and building anticipation and excitement.
