I bought Old 97s Fight Songs based off of hearing "Nineteen," but when I pressed play and heard "Jagged" blasting out I became an instant fan.

"Nineteen" is great, but there's something special about "Jagged." It showed they be a great straight-ahead rock band, if they wanted to (artistically if not commercially).
DeleteI've been wanting to use The Bird and The Bee and the Aztec Camera songs; the 40th anniversary of 1984 gave me a good reason to.
That cover of "Hazy Shade of Winter" is terrific. Kudos to whoever gave it that added bit of muscle that made it so good (an improvement on the original, dare I say it).
